This just in, the Florida Panthers have acquired defenseman Marcus Nutivaara from the Columbus Blue Jackets for minor leaguer Cliff Pu.

Check it out:

Panthers GM Bill Zito was, of course, formerly employed by the Blue Jackets so its safe to say that he knows exactly what he's getting back in Nutivaaraa.

"We are thrilled to welcome Markus to the Panthers," said Zito in a prepared statement. "He is a responsible and competitive two-way defenseman who possesses great vision and moves the puck well. He will be an excellent addition to our team and strengthens our depth on defense."

The 26 year old blueliner put up three goals and nine points in 37 regular season games with the Blue Jackets this past season.

As for Pu, this is his third trade in just the past two years and he's just 22 years old. There's reason to believe that he can still be a regular everyday NHL player, but the clock is ticking on his potential.
