The Columbus Blue Jackets are trading winger Eric Robinson to the Buffalo Sabres, as first reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman and confirmed by insider Aaron Portzline of the Athletic.
While Robinson has only played in seven games for the Jackets this season, scoring just one goal, he will be taking his talents to Buffalo.
As soon as Friedman pointed out that something was in the works, we knew the trade would be coming soon.
Robinson, who has also spent a few weeks in Cleveland of the AHL, is slated to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season. His cap hit is $1.6 million, and Buffalo currently has $6.6 million in available cap space, making it possible for the Sabres to pull the trigger.
More to come.
