Winnipeg Jets’ forward Evander Kane wasn’t on the ice for the team’s practice on Thursday — two days after being benched in Vancouver. Kane was kept out of the 3-2 overtime loss to the Canucks by head coach Paul Maurice because he wore a track suit to the arena, a violation of the club’s dress code, according to Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press. With multiple teams interested in Kane, the question begs, is he a good fit with the Flyers. The answer is a resounding yes. In September TSN's Bob Mckenzie reported that Flyers GM Ron Hextall was very close to getting a deal done for the rugged forward. It eventually fell through, but the Flyers are still interested in Kane. It also appears that Kane would be interested in joining the Flyers, as he favourited a Tweet recently that suggested he join the Broad Street Bullies. Although it a simple Tweet, it may give us some insight into Kane's mindset one month away from the NHL Trade Deadline. The Flyers are weak at left winger and Kane could fill that void in a hurry. The thought of Kane playing on the same line as Claude Giroux and Jake Voracek is simply drool-worthy. The only thing that may hamper the deal is money. The Flyers are right up against the cap (as usual) and the Jets are unlikely to take Vinny Lecavalier or Andrew Macdonald off their hands. However, the Flyers do have some tradeable assets that may interest Winnipeg. Hextall does have a first round pick up his sleeve this year, but trading it seems frankly insane given that it will likely be a top-10 pick. As for the NHL players, we're probably talking about Brayden Schenn and/or Sean Couturier, as we always are when it comes to trade rumors and the Flyers. The Jets lack leverage as it is quite obvious they want him out of town. Should the Flyers make a push to get Kane to Philly?
