Trade rumors: Ducks defenseman heading back on the market
Keystone Press

We’re a little more than a month away from the opening of the 2017-18 season, and already players are caught up in the rumor mill, sitting ready on the trade block.

Matt Larkin of The Hockey News has revealed the names of 10 trade candidates for the upcoming campaign, and though some have been mentioned throughout the summer, others are just getting started to get dizzy in the mill!

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Sami Vatanen was rumored to be heading on the trading block in the summer, but his shoulder injury changed the plans.

Although the Ducks were lucky not to lose a veteran blue liner, but still lost prospect Shea Theodore to the Vegas Golden Knights at the expansion draft. But they can still count on mobile defenders in their lineup besides Vatanen, like Cam Fowler, Hampus Lindholm, Josh Manson, Brandon Montour and Jacob Larsson.

"The Ducks could still deal Vatanen for forward help," adds Larkin.

Vatanen might stick around for the playoffs, but could end up on the market in 2018.
