Star defenseman John Klingberg and teammate Dmitry Kulikov were held out of the Anaheim Ducks lineup during Wednesday’s game against the Washington Capitals for the famous trade-related reasons. There is a sense that Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek could attempt one more time to move Klingberg ahead of the 3PMET deadline today, and insider Frank Seravalli reports that talks have picked up when it comes to the blue liner with teams looking to make a deal work.
Per Seravalli, both the Tampa Bay Lightning and Seattle Kraken are among the teams monitoring price today on Klingberg.
Before the Edmonton Oilers acquired Mattias Ekholm from the Nashville Predators, they were believed to be highly interested in Klingberg. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman had even predicted that the Ducks defenseman would end up in Edmonton.
So where does he play after today’s deadline?
