It may be time to start getting excited about hockey in the state of Utah.

The Utah hockey club is making a big splash on the second day of the National Hockey League Entry Draft, with two trades completed less than an hour into the second day of the big event. I've already reported on a big trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning that sent defenseman Mikhail Sergachev to the Utah hockey club and now we have the Utah hockey club acquiring yet another defenseman, this time from the New Jersey Devils.

According to a report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Utah hockey club has acquired defenseman John Marino from the Devils.

The Devils have now officially confirmed the trade, here are the full details:

To Utah:
John Marino
2024 5th round pick (COL)
To New Jersey:
Mikhail Yegorov
2025 2nd round pick (EDM)

We will have to wait and see if Utah has more moves in store today, stay tuned for more details.
