Condolences to the Smyl family.

The extended family of the Vancouver Canucks has suffered a tremendous loss today.
Earlier this afternoon, the unfortunate news was released that Jennifer Smyl, wife of former captain and current vice-president Stan, has passed away.
Not long afterward, the team released the following statement on Twitter:
"It is with a profound sense of sadness that the Vancouver Canucks and the Aquilini family announce the passing of Stan Smyl's wife of 42 years, Jennifer Smyl. Jennifer was an active member of the Canucks community and an integral part of the charities associated with the team, including her work to help found Canucks Place. Jennifer is survived by her husband Stan and their three children, Jilian, Natalie and Spencer. Our heartfelt condolences are with Jennifer's family and loved ones at this time. While the family appreciates the public's compassion and support, they respectfully ask for privacy during this difficult time."
Stan Smyl played his entire NHL career with the Canucks, and his jersey number 12 was retired by the team. Our thoughts are with the Smyl family.
