The Toronto Sun is reporting today that Jay Brodie, father of Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman TJ Brodie has passed away.
From the Toronto Sun:
"Jay Brodie, the father of Toronto Maple Leafs blue-liner TJ Brodie and a member of his Southwestern Ontario community's sports hall of fame, is being remembered for his love of family, farming, and sports after dying of cancer on Monday.
- The Toronto Sun
He is survived by his wife, Lynn, daughters Justine and Laura, son TJ, and seven grandchildren."
Just like TJ, Brodie Sr. was a fine hockey player in his own day, though he never quite made it to the NHL. He won a Major Midget AA championship with the Chatham Thames Valley Brick in 197778 and was inducted into the Chatham Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Brodie family during this difficult time.
