We are so sorry to find out that NHL legend and majority owner and forward of Kladno in the Czech Extraliga Jaromir Jagr is going through a very difficult time.
His father, Jaromir Sr, has passed away at age 82.
The sad news was confirmed by the son Jaromír himself. “If it’s true that children choose their parents before birth, then my first decision was the best I’ve ever made. Thank you for everything, dad,” wrote a grieving Jagr on Instagram.
The terrible news has gone viral in Czech Republic with reports now just emerging in America.
Jagr took over as majority owner of Kladno from his father back in 2011 as he saved the hockey club. Jagr always credited his father for introducing him to the game and looked to make him proud every time he jumped on the ice. He plays in all of their home games and last saw action in 2022. He plans to continue playing despite being 50 years.
We sent our sincere condolences to the Jagr family.
