Detroit Red Wings superstar Dylan Larkin was missing placed on the non-roster list Wednesday ahead of the game against the Chicago Blackhawks, meaning that whatever is keeping him out of the team’s lineup is not an injury situation. Fans and reporters found out on Friday morning what is keeping Larkin away, and it’s simply terrible news.

The Wings’ captain announced that he and his wife Kenzy have unfortunately loss the baby they were expecting. Earlier this month, Larkin has posted on Instagram that he and Kenzy were expecting their first child, who was due in April.

However on Friday morning, Larkin added a comment with the terrible update on the situation, stating:

“This week, my wife and I sais goodbye to our baby. It’s hard to find words or positivity in this, but we greatly appreciate your support and understanding, and thank you for respecting our privacy.”

There is no grief like that of someone who loses a child. Here at the Hockey Feed, we send our deepest sympathy to the Larkin family.

Larkin will be eligible to return to action whenever he is available, however at this time, we can only imagine that he wants to be with his wife Kenzy and start the healing process for this terrible loss.
