Trevor Zegras clears the air about his relationship with Jamie Drysdale

Last month, forward Trevor Zegras was traded by the Anaheim Ducks to get a fresh start with the Philadelphia Flyers. It also came with the opportunity to reunite with his best friend, defenseman Jamie Drysdale his teammate in Anaheim for four seasons before Drysdale was traded to the Flyers on Jan. 8, 2024.

“I’m best buddies with Jamie,” Zegras said once the trade to Philly went through. “I lived with Jamie for two years in Anaheim and spent a lot of time with him. It’s exciting when you have a familiar face like that in a new place, in a new home. So, it’s really cool.”

This was a better statement from Zegras than previous ones he had made about his friendship with Drysdale. When the defenseman was shipped out of Anaheim last year, Zegras had gone viral for saying that he and his best mate did everything together, including using the bathroom.

“We pretty much do everything together. We pee together. We get injured together. We sleep together. It was good to push each other. Getting on the ice with the injuries that we had were tough.”

On Friday, together as new Flyers teammates, Zegras and Drysdale met with reporters and one of them wanted to know more about the famous quote and how serious the star forward was when he dropped it on media.

That provided the opportunity for Zegras to clear the air about the quote and his relationship with Drysdale, who can be heard in the clip that he would have never said that they pee together.

“It’s from a movie,” immediately points out Zegras about the quote.

He adds: “I did say it. It’s funny, I said that to somebody like very early in the morning. I didn’t think that it would take the shape that it did. Definitely made me reconsider the things I say to the reporters because it was more off the cuff and trying to be funny.”

Zegras and Drysdale have been spending more of the offseason together, playing golf and now, preparing to be teammates once again.

I can’t say if that includes going to the bathroom together or not.
