Trevor Zegras finally signs a new contract on Monday.
The Anaheim Ducks have finally signed forward Trevor Zegras to a new deal on Monday.
The Anaheim Ducks have finally put an end to the Trevor Zegras saga.
The Ducks were facing a great deal of criticism from their own fan base over the summer for failing to secure a new deal with star forward Trevor Zegras, but on Monday morning the two sides were finally able to announce that they had reached a deal.
According to an official announcement, Zegras has signed a 3 year deal. Although the Ducks did not disclose the financial terms of the new deal, we know that Zegras' new contract will carry an average annual value and salary cap hit of $5.75 million per season, a gigantic increase in pay from the AAV of $1.775 million he was previously earning on his entry level contract.
The Ducks now have one more very important restricted free agent to sign in the form of Jamie Drysdale, but I suspect with Zegras out of the way a deal for Drysdale should quickly follow.
