Trevor Zegras addresses the elephant in the room.
The Philadelphia Flyers are just 7 games into their season but despite that there is already tremendous pressure coming down on the organization to make significant changes.
The Flyers have gotten off to a historically bad start, the worst in Flyers franchise history in fact, putting up a record of 0-5-2 through those first 7 games of the National Hockey League season, and over the weekend their fans turned on them with chants calling for the head of head coach Rick Tocchet.
Following the game, Flyers forward Trevor Zegras was asked to address the elephant in the room and he threw his full support behind his head coach, complimenting him not only as a coach but as a man as well.
"Fully behind Toc," said Zegras. "He's an amazing person. He's an amazing coach. He does so many little things for us behind the scenes. We're really disappointed with how these games are going"
Rather than allowing the blame to fall at the feet of Tocchet, Zegras instead pointed the finger of blame back at himself and the other players in the Flyers locker room.
"We need the guys in the room to turn this thing around," said Zegras.
With this kind of talk already starting so early in the season, and with a historically bad start go along with it, you have to wonder how much longer this can last if the Flyers don't find a way to win a game soon.
