Earlier this week, videos leak of the Arizona Coyotes’ temporary visiting team spaces (dressing room, training areas, etc.) for the first four NHL games at Mullett Arena. The makeshift setup got people talking and the Coyotes were roasted for what they put together until new rooms are constructed. However, Chris Johnston wanted to reveal the entire story behind the temporary visitor’s dressing room at the Coyotes’ new arena Thursday night on Insider Trading on TSN:

“I would say this is a case of maybe don’t believe everything you see on the Internet because that video is taken in the very early stages of the construction of the temporary visitors room at Mullet Arena. Someone who knows about what’s going on there told me it was about 1 per cent of the build that will ultimately be done before Friday when the Winnipeg Jets move in for the first game there as a visiting team and so I don’t think it’s anywhere near any concern. There’s NHL and NHLPA officials on site making sure everything is up to standard and certainly it seems like one of those ones where we call got a little bit ahead of ourselves because I believe that will look and feel like a normal locker room under not normal conditions.”

There are in fact new footage that emerged on Thursday, thanks to TVA Sports' Andy Mailly-Pressoir of the setup and I have to admit it looks way better than it was first portrayed on the viral video.

However, with how fast things land on social media, the Coyotes had to expect that the first look at the visiting spaces was going to have people talk.

There are reports that the ice conditions are perfect at the Mullett Arena and we cannot wait to the Coyotes in action in the small venue later tonight against the Jets.

The Coyotes might also feel uplifted by the good news surrounding their future arena as Johnston’s colleague Darren Dreger explained later on Insider Trading on TSN:

“Both the National Hockey League and the Arizona Coyotes are optimistic that the City of Tempe council will finally approve, so the Arizona Coyotes can in fact move forward with their new build. There’s a presentation council meeting on Nov. 22, but Nov. 29 is the big council meeting. And that’s where council is expected to vote, approving the Coyotes to move forward with their new build.”

It all sounds promising. Let’s now see how teams do on that ice and what comments emerge from the visiting rooms now that the setup is completed and ready to welcome the Jets, New York Rangers, Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars.
