Fans in Boston got pretty worried over the course of the past few days after many key members of the Bruins were missing from team practices. The Bruins saw a lot of players return to the ice on Monday after several were deemed unfit to play over the weekend, but they are still without forwards David Pastrnak, Ondrej Kase and defenceman Charlie McAvoy Tuesday.

While star goalie Tuukka Rask wasn’t on the ice last week, he finally joined his teammates and revealed the injury that has kept him out in an interview on Tuesday.

The netminder had to address it because a few reporters had started to speculate on his status after they had noticed a small splint binding Rask’s middle and ring fingers of his left hand during his virtual media availability upon being named a Vezina Trophy finalist last week.

On Tuesday, Rask gave a few more details on the ailment and how it could affect his performance during the postseason. He mentioned that he fractured the finger while doing box jumps a few weeks ago but had no concerns about it.

“I’m not worried about it,” he told reporters. “It’ll be all set once we start playing.”

That’s good news for the Bruins, who will need to get more key players into their lineup before the team is set to arrive in the hub city of Toronto on July 26.

Pastrnak made his Phase 3 debut last Wednesday, but hasn’t appeared since. McAvoy was absent for the first time Monday, and remains “unfit” on Tuesday.

The Bruins fans - even Rask and his injured hand - will cross their fingers to get him back for the postseason.
