Two high profile UFA veterans received tons of calls.

The UFA season is fast approaching and a few high profile players will be available. On the top of the list sit two fairly old dudes who've played together for a long, long time. They may not be the youngest around, but they sure have a lot of gaz remaining in the tank. 

Joe Thornton is the most sought after guy on the list and for good reason. He's been contributing to the Sharks scoring a ton last season and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Apparently, he's asking for a three years deal that would carry him into his 40's. 

Depending on the numbers, he might get that 3 years deal even if he's 37 now. 

One other Shark who's free as a bird is Patrick Marleau and it seems he's received many calls too. 

Marleau is the same age, but no clue about his demands in terms of length or salary. Although he's been a bit less productive than Thornton in the last few seasons, he's still a very valid choice for teams looking to add experience in the locker room for a Playoff push. 

Both guys were quoted as willing to stay in San Jose for the next contract and there seems to be a mutual interest. However, as with any players on the UFA market, huge surprises are not out of the question either.
