Two huge stars expected to join Team Canada at World Championship.
Team Canada expected to get a major boost at the World Championship.
Team Canada is expected to receive a significant boost at the International Ice Hockey Federation's World Championship of hockey, so significant in fact that it is almost impossible to oversell it.
On Sunday, National Hockey League insider Darren Dreger revealed that Canadian superstar Sidney Crosby will be joining his fellow countrymen at the World Championship after his Pittsburgh Penguins failed to qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs this season. Crosby is of course considered to be one of the very best hockey players on the planet and adding him to any roster is a major upgrade.
Things may get even better for Canadian hockey fans however with Dreger also reporting that Colorado Avalanche star forward Nathan MacKinnon is also expected to join his good friend Sidney Crosby at that very same tournament. MacKinnon and the Avalanche were of course eliminated by the Dallas Stars in a 7 game series that concluded on Saturday night, making him available for the tournament at the last minute. Like Crosby, MacKinnon is considered to be one of the truly elite hockey players on the planet and his addition to any roster is a significant upgrade.
No word on when either addition is expected to be officially announced, but stay tuned for more on this developing story.
