A pair of NHL players are up for grabs during the league's All-Star weekend.
There may be no real games in the National Hockey League over the weekend, but in spite of that it remains business as usual for teams around the league in spite of the All-Star festivities.
Case in point, on Saturday both the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights made roster moves when each team decided to send a player to the waiver wire.
In the case of the Colorado Avalanche, 24 year old goaltender Ivan Prosvetov has been placed on waivers after 11 games with the Avalanche this season and this move may signal something more long term. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reports that the Avalanche are looking to give goaltender Justus Annunen a shot between the pipes which could mean that Prosvetov is headed for a stint with the American Hockey League's Colorado Eagles.
Prosvetov recorded a 3.16 goals against average and a .895 save percentage over his 11 appearances for the Avalanche.
The Golden Knights on the other hand are waiving a defenseman with 24 year old Brayden Pachal headed to the waiver wire. Pachal has appeared in 17 games for the Golden Knights this season and has 1 goal and no assists for a total of 1 point. Pachal has 12 penalty minutes on the season and currently boasts a plus minus rating of -2.
New York Islanders forward Julien Gauthier was the only player waived on Friday, but no team submitted a claim for him and he has cleared waivers.
