Two NHLers win huge amount playing Fortnite for charities

NHL players may not be able to play on the ice at the moment, but some of them surely had fun playing video games this week. 

St. Louis Blues players Vince Dunn and Jordan Kyrou finished in second place in a charitable Fortnite tournament on Twitch this week, winning $100,000 for charity.

The Twitch Rivals SuperGames tournament featured all-star athletes and all-star gamers in a four-round event, which began April 13. Dunn and Kyrou, along with their gamer teammates mrconrem and aircool, collected the second-most points in the tournament, losing only to a team that featured NFL stars Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pittsburgh Steelers).

Blues prospect Jake Walman also competed in the tournament, winning $2,000 for No Kid Hungry.

They weren’t the only NHL players taking part in the tournament featuring athletes from a variety of sports:  Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche), David Pastrnak (Boston Bruins) and Patrik Laine (Winnipeg Jets) were also battling for first place.
