A second blue line addition for the Maple Leafs organization in as many days.
After bolstering the depth of their blue line on Friday with the addition of a new defenseman on a 3 year entry level contract, the Maple Leafs organization was back at it on Saturday. This time the addition will be to the blue line of the Toronto Marlies, with the Marlies officially announcing the signing of defenseman Frank Djurasevic to a 2 year deal over the weekend.
Djurasevic's new contract won't kick in until the 2026-27 American Hockey League season gets underway but fans won't have to wait that long to see him in action. The Marlies have also announced that Djurasevic will be joining them on an amateur tryout agreement for the remainder of this current season.
Djurasevic has spent his last two seasons as a member of the University of Maine's Black Bears, with 5 goals and 9 assists for a total of 14 points in 34 games to his credit during the 2025-26 campaign. Djurasevic also spent one season with Merrimack College and amassed a total of 16 goals and 36 assists, a total of 52 points, during his 3 years playing under the banner of the NCAA.
Djurasevic is best known however for his role in back to back BCHL championships as a member of the Penticton Vees, capturing titles during both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons with that franchise.
No word just yet on when Djurasevic is expected to make his debut.
