Two young forwards on waivers today, including one player from a blockbuster trade

This just in, Ottawa Senators forward Donovan and San Jose Sharks forward Egor Afanasyev have both been placed on NHL waivers today.

The 23 year old Sebrango has played two games for the Senators this season, following a stellar campaign with the AHL's Belleville Senators last season. The Ottawa native was part of the blockbuster 2023 trade that saw the Sens ship star forward Alex DeBrincat to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for Sebrango, Dominik Kubalik and draft picks.

Afanasyev has yet to play a regular season game for the Sharks after coming over to the team in a 2024 offseason trade from the Nashville Predators. He put up 7 goals and 21 points in 53 games with CSKA Moscow of the KHL last season.
