Fans in St. Louis are looking for an update when it comes to veteran forward Tyler Bozak. This might not be the one they were hoping for…

The 36-year-old remains unsigned as season opens in a week from today as his one-year contract he signed with the Blues last summer came to end and was not extend this offseason.

Team insider Jeremy Rutherford has provided an update the free agent forward in a recent mailbag for The Athletic. Rutherford has been told that Bozak is only “interested in playing in a few select situations, and if those opportunities don’t materialize, he’s content not playing.”

He then added, when speaking about Bozak’s wife Molly, that she had not provided an update on the situation either.

“Molly was a great part of the Blues family the past four years and will be missed. I also miss her on Twitter, where she’s been silent since late June.”

It sounds like fans might need to move on, maybe like the forward himself is planning on doing. There is no doubt that Bozak has had an accomplished career, especially given his status as an undrafted player. But he appears in no rush to add to that resume.

Last season, Bozak skated in 50 regular-season games for the Blues and took part in 12 of their playoff contests. He only managed to score a combined 14 points in that time frame.

And so what is next for Bozak?
