Tyler Ennis officially retires from professional hockey

An extremely underrated player. Nearly 350 pts in 700 games! At just 5'9 and 160 lbs!

Veteran NHL forward Tyler Ennis has officially announced his retirement with a post on his personal Instagram.

Check it out:

The 34 year old played the last two seasons overseas in Switzerland and Germany. He last played in the NHL with the Ottawa Senators during the 2021-22 season. In total he amassed 144 goals and 346 points in 700 career NHL games split between the Senators, Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Minnesota Wild and Buffalo Sabres.

He's probably best remembered from his time with the Sabres and for putting up back to back 20+ goal campaigns with the team in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

The 5'9", 160lb speedster from Edmonton, Alberta was never a physical force out there but he never shied away from contact. He was an ultimate team player and would never back down from a battle, despite being one of the smallest players in the NHL during his tenure.

All the best to Ennis in retirement!
