Most of us go through everyday life never truly realizing the danger that could befall us at any moment, but on Sunday two of the National Hockey League's top stars got a very sobering dose of reality. Last night we reported on the damage that had been done to the home of Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin, you can read an excerpt from that story here:

As many of our readers will already know the great state of Texas has been rocked by a powerful tornado on Sunday night, a tornado that was centered around the Dallas area. Unsurprisingly given the fact that the Dallas Stars are based out of Dallas several NHL players live in the area, and it seems that one of those players has been the victim of mother nature this evening. According to multiple reports that are now pouring in from all over social media, it looks like the home of National Hockey League star Tyler Seguin has been completely destroyed by the tornado.

There is a silver lining here, there are also reports suggesting that Seguin had already purchased a new home in the area and was currently living in there while the house that has been destroyed this evening was up for sale. Of course this incident will no doubt make it extremely difficult for Seguin to sell the house now, but hopefully he had previously insured the property and won't be out too much when all is said and done.

You can see a before and after picture of the property in the images provided below, and to be honest I'm not sure that the house is going to be salvageable after all the damage it has suffered. Based on the images we have been able to gather it looks as though the house is nearly completely destroyed, the roof has seemingly vanished, the windows appear to have shattered, and even the front gate looks like it has been ripped off of its hinges. The only pieces of the house that appear to have survived the onslaught of mother nature are the stone walls, although that may change when we get a picture of the damage with better lighting.

As it turns out however Seguin was not the only player to have his property damaged by the tornado that touched down on Sunday, Dallas Stars goaltender Ben Bishop was also a victim of mother nature. In the case of Bishop however it appears that he was living in the home that was damaged, but according to Stars insider Sean Shapiro the veteran netminder and his family are all safe and sound. You of course never want to make light of someone's property being damaged, after all some things like family heirlooms and photos are irreplaceable when lost, but the important thing here is that everyone in the Bishop family has made it through ok and will hopefully be none the worse for wear in a little while.

As of the time of this writing we are unsure of the extent of the damage to Bishop's home, and no pictures of the damage have gone public. Stay tuned for more updates.
