Ugly scene in Vancouver as one lands head first in the boards leading to line brawl!
What a terrible sequence of events in the Canucks’ home opener against the Flames.
A serious collision took place between Vancouver Canucks’ J.T. Miller and Calgary Flames’ Kevin Rooney in the first game of the season, almost at the very start of it. In a frightening moment, Miller sent Rooner flying head first into the boards and the poor Flames forward remained prone on the ice for a long period of time. The stretcher was even brought out, but was eventually waved off as Rooney skated off with assistance.
The collision led to an all-out brawl with Rooney’s teammates looking to go after Miller for his hit.
This is what happened:
I don’t mean to say that Miller was looking to hurt Rooney. It looked like one of those unavoidable hits at the pace the game is being place.
It is however a shame to see anyone get injured just minutes into a new season, and that was a frightening one.
All the best to Rooney, let’s hope for the Flames and their fanbase he does not miss out too much time on the mend.
