Unexpected classy move by Matthew Tkachuk during the game vs. Calgary

This will make you smile.

Matthew Tkachuk didn’t get the win over his former club on Tuesday night as his new team the Florida Panthers rolled into Calgary… Chants of “Hubie’s better” erupted in the Saddledome in the third period of the Flames’ 6-2 win over the Panthers.

Tkachuk was booed whenever he touched the puck, but he also received a partial standing ovation during a video tribute to him early in the first period.

The forward also pulled one of the most heartwarming move I’ve seen this season when he collided with his former line mate Elias Lindholm. Tkachuk nailed the poor Flames’ forward and he fell on the ice, and right away the Panthers’ player checked on his buddy to make sure he was okay.

This is especially unexpected in the middle of a game, one that the Panthers were attempting to get back into as the Flames were in control, and yet it didn’t stop Tkachuk from wanting to make sure his friend was fine.

Respect.

More than what the home fans showed him at the Saddledome for his return to Calgary…
