The month of December has been rough on Calgary Flames assistant general manager Chris Snow and his family. And finally, a few days ahead of Christmas, there is unexpected great news from the hospital where he’s been staying at.
On Tuesday evening, Chris himself posted a picture as he is using his walker in the corridors of the hospital, stating: “ICU doc said she could feel a gust of wind this morning as I did laps. Then she kicked me out. Headed to pulmonary. One big step closer to going home.”
Snow is therefore out of ICU, where he was earlier this month when he was placed on a ventilator. The Flames’ assistant GM suffers from ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and has dealt with respiratory issues for weeks.
This is the best update there is now that Snow is improving and keeps on fighting.
This summer, he received a standing ovation at the 2022 NHL Awards when he and his family presented the Norris Trophy and raise awareness of the progressive neuromuscular disease. The Snow family and Chris, who have become tireless advocates for ALS research and fans are thrilled that the AGM is back on track.
Keep going, Chris.
