UPDATE: Injured Veteran Skates

The injury situation of the Detroit Red Wings does not seem to be getting better for long-serving veteran defenseman Niklas Kronwall, but there are positive signs for Tomas Jurco.

 

Jurco was placed on the injured reserve roughly two weeks ago after undergoing back surgery during the the offseason. He was initially expected to be out until November, as per MLive.com, but Ansar Khan has reported that Jurco took to the ice and took part of practice drills earlier today.

 

He was rotating in and out of the defensive pairings, which indicates that he’s progressing well but there is still no word on when he’s expected to be reinserted into the lineup.
