Update: Penguins and RFA struggling to make a deal
Keystone Press

It was reported this morning by NHL insider Elliotte Friedman that restricted free-agent Brian Dumoulin and the Pittsburgh Penguins are very divided on contract negotiations. Dumoulin, who just won a Stanley Cup with the Pens, is asking for almost double of what he was offered by the team.

Dumoulin, who asked for over $4 million annually, had just 15 points in 70 games with the Penguins in 2016-17 but was a impact player for them on the blue line during the playoffs and was a big part of their second back-to-back Stanley Cup championship. With defenders Trevor Daley and Ron Hainsey both parting ways with the Penguins earlier this offseason, Dumoulin could be a key piece for the Penguins next season if a deal can be reached!
