The Boston Bruins have been working all summer to get a deal done with star forward David Pastnrak, but with Pastrnak coming off a big 70-point season the two sides have been unable to find common ground as far as the finances are concerned.
While there hasn't been much news over the past several days, on Monday general manager Don Sweeney made comments that suggest there is still hope that the Bruins and Pastrnak's representatives will get a deal worked out.
“We continue to talk every day and we’re hopeful we find a landing spot,” Sweeney said as per the Boston Sports Journal.
This is a good sign, as following a rumored meeting between Sweeney and agent JP Barry last week there was talk that Pastrnak had also had fairly serious offers from teams in the KHL. Despite those rumors Sweeney says he intends to keep working towards a resolution.
“We’ll continue to talk and try to find common ground,” Sweeney said.
