Vegas expected to take 30 goal scorer after team leaves him exposed.

One National Hockey League team is about to pay a very heavy price at the expansion draft.

Earlier today it was reported that the Florida Panthers had not protected 26-year-old center Jonathan Marchessault, a move that surprised many including the player himself who admitted as much.

Now, Florida Panthers insider Harvey Fialkov of the Sun-Sentinel is reporting that the Panthers "will likely lose 30-goal scorer Jonathan Marchessault to Vegas."

Marchessault is coming off by far the best season of his career, one that came with the aforementioned 30 goals, and an addition 21 assists for 71 points in just 75 games.

There are likely some who will question the decision to leave Marchessault exposed.
