Fun Fact: Mark Stone has never played a full NHL season.
This just in, the Vegas Golden Knights have placed captain Mark Stone on injured reserve and have called his status 'week to week'.
Stone suffered an apparent wrist injury that he sustained in Saturday night’s win over the Calgary Flames, coach Bruce Cassidy announced earlier today.
“It’s an unfortunate loss,” Cassidy said following the team’s morning skate on Monday. “It’ll be a loss in every area. He touches the penalty kill, and obviously down low on the power play.”
Stone is currently second in the NHL with 13 points, trailing only his teammate Jack Eichel (15). He had two goals and two assists in Saturday’s game before exiting with the injury, and three assists the game prior against Boston.
“This year he’s in as good of shape as he’s been since I’ve been here,” Cassidy said. “It sucks. It really does. I feel for him, but he’s always bounced back well. That’s the good news.”
Stone has seemingly been plagued by injuries his entire NHL career. He has never played a full campaign and has averaged just 48 games a season over his seven seasons with the Golden Knights.
