Vegas gets some brutal news just minutes before Game 1
Losing a player with his pedigree is an absolutely awful break.
This just in, the Vegas Golden Knights have announced that defenseman Alex Pietrangelo will NOT play Game 1 this evening against the Edmonton Oilers due to illness.
From the team's official social media:
That's an absolutely brutal break for the Golden Knights.
The 35 year old Pietrangelo has been a rock for the Golden Knights once again this season. He logs top minutes and has put up 33 points in 71 games this season. More than that though, he's relied on to play match up assignments against Vegas' top opponents. That means the likes of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl should have a little bit more breathing room out there tonight. Stay tuned.
