Today the Vegas Golden Knights officially announced that it entering an ECHL partnership with the former Jacksonville Icemen, now known as the... wait for it... the Savannah Ghost Pirates!

This affiliation with Savannah gives us alignment from the ECHL level through Henderson and up to the NHL," said Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon in a prepared statement. "We are excited to lead the hockey operations and have a proven developer of talent as a head coach in Rick Bennett."

“We have confidence that the Ghost Pirate’s NHL/AHL partnership with the Vegas Knights organization will provide us with a successful and hardworking team,” said Ghost Pirates president Bob Ohrablo. “The reception we have received from the Savannah community has been overwhelming. Our goal was to sign an affiliation with a premier NHL franchise. With this announcement we can say that we’ve accomplished this.”

The Ghost Pirates (such a bad ass name) begin play at the brand new Enmarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia this October and will be rocking this incredible logo on their uniforms:
