A minor deal was struck between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Colorado Avalanche late on Monday night, one that likely won't have much of an impact on either team.

The Blue Jackets have sent defenseman Cody Goloubef to the Avalanche in exchnage for another defenseman in the form of Ryan Stanton, both men are veteran players who have seemingly settled in the American Hockey League after briefs stints at the National Hockey League level.

Goloubef comes with the better pedigree, he was drafted in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, but much like Stanton he never found his way into a full-time NHL role. The two men shoot from opposite sides, and that may have played a role in the swap between the two organizations.

Both men are expected to report to Columbus' and Colorado's respective AHL affiliates.
