According to Montreal Canadiens GM Kent Hughes, longtime Habs forward Paul Byron is retiring from professional hockey and will take on a new role with the team next month.

The 34 year old Byron ends his career with a stellar 98 goals and 208 points in 521 points split between the Buffalo Sabres, Calgary Flames and Canadiens. He was acquired by the Habs off of waivers from the Flames back in 2015 ad was a stellar player for the team the past six seasons. His career high came in 2016-17 when he put up 22 goals and 43 points in 81 games.
