Veteran forward on the trading block after the best season of his career.

It's no secret that Chicago Blackhawks manager Stan Bowman has had to be extremely creative in order to field competitive teams year in and year out, and once again that same salary cap may cost the Blackhawks a very skilled player.

Blackhawks reporter Chris Hine of the Chicago Tribune is now reporting that among the list of trade candidates for the Blackhawks this season is none other than Artem Anisimov, a player coming off arguably the best season of his NHL career.

From Hine:

Anisimov has been rumored to be on the block given his reasonable contract and good production the last few years. And the Hawks may believe they have potential second-line centers in Nick Schmaltz and Tanner Kero to play between Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin.

Anisimov was limited to just 64 games with the Blackhawks this season, but despite that he managed to record 22 goals and 23 assists for a very respectable 45 points over that stretch. It seems almost a given that, should Chicago make him available this summer, National Hockey League organizations will be lining up to acquire him.

It has to be mentioned that Anisimov has a no-movement clause, so should the Blackhawks decide to trade him he will have a great deal of control in regards to where he goes.
