If there were any doubts about Kris Versteeg's intent to remain in the National Hockey League, doubt no longer.

On Friday, following the elimination of his Calgary Flames from the Stanley Cup playoffs, Versteeg spoke to the media and was asked about his future. Needless to say he made his intent crystal clear.

"If I'm sitting in Switzerland in September, my agent is getting fired."

The 30-year-old NHL veteran is coming off a solid season with the Flames that saw him record 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points in his 69 games player this season, and obviously he believes that will earn him some looks in free agency.

Versteeg is set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
