One team's trash is apparently another team's treasure.

On Friday the Vancouver Canucks announced that they would be cutting National Hockey League veteran Scottie Upshall from their roster, releasing him from the professional tryout offer he signed earlier this summer, however Upshall may already have another job.

While there still has been no official announcement, multiple sources are now reporting that Upshall is expected to sign a new contract with his former team, the St. Louis Blues, this just days after the Blues revealed that forward Robby Fabbri suffered a season-ending injury to his left knee.

Upshall, a power-play specialist, was expected to be a good fit for the Canucks who have struggled on the power-play as of late, but for whatever reason the Canucks opted not to sign, or he opted not to sign in Vancouver, and he will instead sign with a Western Conference rival.
