The Los Angeles Kings have made a big time acquisition.
On Tuesday the Kings announced that they had hired former National Hockey League veteran Dave Lowry to be an assistant coach in their system. From the Kings official press release:
The LA Kings have named Dave Lowry as an Assistant Coach, Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake and Kings Head Coach John Stevens announced today.
Lowry joins Stevens' coaching staff which also features Goaltending Coach Bill Ranford. An additional assistant coach will be announced at a later date.
Lowry is a veteran of over 1000 National Hockey League games and has had an extensive career in the WHL where he has coached over 400 games so far. This will be his first job as a coach in the NHL.
