Video emerges of altercation between Canadiens and Sabres fans.

Video has emerged of an altercation between two opposing fan bases, with the Game 1 of the second round series between the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens serving as the background.

Following a dominant win by the Sabres over the Canadiens in the first game of the series, a minor altercation would break out outside of KeyBank Center in Buffalo. That altercation included members of HabsFanTV who would discuss the incident on social media, resulting in some fiery responses from fans in Buffalo.

Although the video wasn't published by HabsFanTV, it has since been published on social media by a user who purports to cover the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League in an effort to prove that no such altercation ever took place. However in the video we can see what appears to be an intoxicated fan attempt to tackle and take down a man wearing the Canadiens colors, a man who is making every effort he can to avoid an altercation.

Although HabsFanTV claimed that this was the first time they had faced an assault of this nature during any road game they have covered, they had initially refused to post the video themselves as they felt it did not reflect the Sabres fan base as a whole. They have since responded to the video, reiterating that they do not believe this one individual represents what Sabres fans are all about.

"We never wanted to post this video as this does not represent the Sabres fanbase we met over our last 4 days here, which you can see by the many great Sabres fans who stepped in to get this guy off," said the outlet in a statement on Friday.
