Malkin comes through in the clutch for Pittsburgh.
With their share of struggles early in the season and with captain Sidney Crosby on the longest point drought of his National Hockey League career the Penguins needed a big win tonight, and they got just that.
Not only did Crosby record his first point of the season, a goal in the first period that gave Pittsburgh a 1-0 lead, but the Penguins would eventually go on to win the game in overtime thanks to clutch one timer from forward Evgeni Malkin.
The set up came from Kris Letang who showed some signs of life in this game, both offensively as well as defensively with some solid body checks.
