People are starting to take the Washington Capitals seriously. They used to be a juggernaut for a Stanley Cup, but now, they're turning into legitimate contender.

In the next sequence, you can see how the season is going for them.

In overtime on Saturday, against the New York Rangers, Braden Holtby robbed Derek Stepan on the door step with a miraculous pad save. Then Alex Ovechkin takes the puck skates it coast to coast and scores a beautiful goal on Henrik Lundqvist to win the game in over time.

Ovechkin's goal was his 499th career goal, he also moved into a tie for most in the NHL with Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Vladimir Tarasenko.
