DETAILS INSIDE
In hockey, sometimes good things will happen for you as long as you never give up on a play.
Washington Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov proved that on Saturday, as he scored one of the strangest goals you will ever see against the Colorado Avalanche.
Orlov created a scoring chance by using a nifty move to side-step an Avs' defenseman, before managing a shot on goaltender Calvin Pickard.
Pickard turns the shot aside, but loses track of the puck itself. Fortunately for Orlov, the puck lands right next to him and he is able to recover it in stride.
He then comes back in front of the net, with Pickard still searching for the loose puck, and buries his first of the season into the wide open cage.
You won't see another goal like this this season.
