Blues veteran forward Vladimir Tarasenko doesn’t appear to have any patience when it comes to reporters asking about the trade deadline and his future in St. Louis.

Earlier this season, the Russian forward got upset when he was asked about trade rumours, despite the fact that he stood by the trade request he made following a career-best 84-point performance in 2021-22.

On Thursday ahead of the All-Star weekend, Tarasenko faced more questions about a potential trade seeing that the deadline is approaching and Jeremy Rutherford told him that this could be last time he represents the Blues on the big stage. Once again, he appeared short and aggressive in response. He even spoke of himself in the third person!

“Yes, obviously yes, because even Vladi don’t know the future of Vladi. There is only one guy who knows more than me, and his name is Doug Armstrong. I think that’s the guy who you should talk about my future (with) the Blues.”

When the follow-up question came about any discussions with his GM about the future, the answer was shorter and more to the point: “No, not lately.”

There was a time when Tarasenko’s health put the trade rumours on hold. He took a puck off his hand Dec. 31 against the Minnesota Wild and missed 10 games before returning Jan. 24. Despite his absence, Tarasenko has put up 10 goals and 29 points in 38 games and remains a coveted piece on the market.

Tarasenko will be participating in the Accuracy Shooting contest Friday as part of the All-Star Skills competition, and might get more eyes on him as the March 3rd deadline nears.
