The Ottawa Senators have just traded forward Vladimir Tarasenko to the Florida Panthers. According to Kevin Weekes, Ottawa is getting two rounds picks in return.

The Senators are retaining 50 percent on Tarasenko's salary in exchange for a conditional 2024 fourth round pick (which becomes 2026 third round pick if Panthers win the Stanley Cup) and a 2025 third round pick, per Pierre LeBrun.

Just moments prior, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman had confirmed that trade talks with the contending Panthers had intensified.

Tarasenko was believed to be eyeing Florida as his top destination, wanting to be closer to his family.
Several teams had been linked to the Russian forward especially since he is reportedly open to waive his no-trade clause to join a Stanley Cup contender.

Last spring, Tarasenko was traded to the Blue Shirts along with Niko Mikkola in exchange for for Hunter Skinner , Sammy Blais , conditional round 1 pick in the 2023 draft ( Theo Lindstein ) and conditional round 4 pick in the 2024 draft.

Tarasenko has put up 17 goals, 24 assists and 41 points in 57 games in his first season with Ottawa after inking a one-year, $5MM contract.

He will be a great addition for the Panthers looking, this time, to make it all the way.
