The Bruins have just lost the defenseman, who gets claimed off waivers for the second time this season.
On Tuesday, the Boston Bruins placed defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Providence. Unfortunately for them, the Stars made the claim on Wednesday at the deadline and now Kolyachonok is heading back to Dallas.
The Stars had placed Kolyachonok on waivers back in December and lost him to Boston, so this is a return to Dallas for the defenseman. He appeared in just two games with the Bruins, on Dec. 23 and 27, before being waived again.
The young blue liner has appeared in 13 games with Boston and Dallas this season, recording one goal and two assists for three points. He has skated in 87 career NHL games with Boston, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Utah and Arizona, totaling five goals and 12 assists for 17 points. The young journeyman was originally selected by Florida in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
The Stars originally acquired Kolyachonok from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Matt Dumba and a 2028 second-round draft pick.
Kolyachonok is under contract through the end of the season at a $775,000 cap hit.
