Forward Vladislav Namestnikov is moving again. According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Winnipeg Jets have acquired Namestnikov from the San Jose Sharks.
In return, the Jets are giving up a 2025 fourth-round pick to San Jose.
On Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Lightning had traded Namestinkov to the Sharks in exchange for forward Mikey Eyssimont.
This is a sixth trade for the 26-year-old forward who was originally moved by the Lightning to the New York Rangers in 2018 in a deal that sent J.T. Miller and Ryan McDonagh back to Tampa. He also played for the Detroit Red Wings, Dallas Stars, Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche.
Namestnikov holds a $2.5 million AAV until the end of the season, with the Bolts retaining $1.25 million of that in the trade with San Jose on Wednesday.
He has become less productive in past seasons, putting up just six goals and 15 points in 57 games with Tampa this year.
Let’s see what he can bring to the Jets.
