According to court documents acquired by media tabloid TMZ, The Great One Wayne Gretzky is being sued for $10 million for allegedly making false claims about a weight-loss product that his wife Janet Gretzky was hired to promote.

The case's plaintiff Steven Sparks created a "natural gum used to manage weight" called OMG gum. He states that he hired Janet to be a spokesperson for the product, but that his business failed after claims that Wayne made about the product turned out to be false.

Sparks claims that the Gretzky's invested in the product and Wayne himself artificially inflated the value of the company after stating that he lost 35 pounds in two months as a result of using the product. It turns out that that was a lie and the company's value tanked. Now Sparks claims he's out $10 million in revenue thanks to Wayne's blatant lie.

In 2018, Wayne allegedly stated that he chewed OMG gum daily, "loved" how it tasted and "dropped 35 pounds in six to eight weeks."

Then, according to the lawsuit: “on or about February 20, 2020, Defendant stated to Plaintiff that he ‘really did not lose 35 pounds.’ This admission was not repeated to those investors who had invested expressly based upon their belief in ‘OMG gum’ because it had been endorsed by the ‘Great One.’”

Sparks also alleges that Wayne and Janet colluded to remove him from BuChew while ordering the company's new bosses to stop using the former NHL player’s image or name to promote the product.

As part of the $10 million lawsuit, Sparks is asking for $500,000 in attorney fees to be paid by Gretzky — with 10 percent interest.
