NHL official Wes McCauley is one of those rare NHL referees who comes with name recognition. 

There aren't many officials throughout the years who have made a cultural impact on the sport, but McCauley has and he belongs alongside other famous/infamous officials like Ray Scapinello, Kerry Fraser and Tim Peel. Unlike these other gentlemen though, McCauley has made a name for himself with his dramatic hot mic calls.
